About
Therapy for transitions, relationships, trauma, identity & your story.
Aloha and welcome! My name is Heather and I am glad you are here! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Hawaiʻi, with master’s degrees in Counseling and Applied Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy.
As a Systemic Therapist, I believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Our stories are shaped by the relationships, families, cultures, workplaces, and systems we move through—and therapy can be a space to slow down, get curious, and make sense of it all.
I love working with people navigating life transitions, wanting to understand themselves more deeply, or hoping to create more space for compassion, connection, and pleasure in their lives. Maybe you’re coming out, starting or ending a relationship, working through trauma, exploring identity, navigating intergenerational family dynamics, or simply feeling ready for something to change.
My approach is systemic, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own lived experience. I’m not here to tell you who you should be. I’m here to listen, ask thoughtful questions, challenge the stories that no longer serve you, and help you discover what feels more authentic and possible.
With a decade of experience as a therapist, plus a background in human resources, organizational development, and training since 2008, I bring a unique understanding of how the environments and systems around us shape our well-being. I also draw on personal experience—growing up in a military family taught me firsthand how much structure, transition, and unspoken rules shape a person from the inside out, and navigating complicated grief has given me a genuine understanding of loss that doesn't move in a straight line. These experiences inform how I show up with clients: with real empathy for how much context matters, and without judgment for grief, change, or healing that doesn't look tidy.
Rooted in the spirit of Talk Story, I believe there is power in being genuinely heard. Bring your whole self, your questions, your contradictions, your humor, and your story. There’s room for all of it here.
